INTRODUCTION

Vilyette was born the eldest daughter, and only child, to Lord Julien Lionnellais and Lady Loveta Lionnellais. House Lionnellais was made famous in generations past by Vilyette's ancestor Lysandroix Lionnellais, who is said to have created such luxurious fashions that sent the highborn into a frenzy. The family's crest features a lion, adorned in draped cloth, and wielding a pair of scissors crossed with a hammer. The crest was altered to later include the hammer as the family business was transformed from creating luxurious fashions, to more practical armor design and craft.Despite their line of work, Vilyette was forbidden from pursuing knighthood at an early age, when a tutor discovered her promising marksmanship with a bow and recommended her to the knight's academy. Instead she was encouraged to focus on her forge and needle works in hopes of continuing the family business, and her gift for song was also nurtured, leading Vilyette to learn many instruments, excelling in particular at the harp and flute.Her battle training did not go untouched, however.
